KOLIADA - CAROLING

Every year the Kosa Kolektiv and Folk Camp community gathers to learn ancient carols, vinshuvannya (spoken blessings), and skits, to prepare for KoliadaKoliada is a winter ritual that now coincides with Christmas, but long pre-dates it in some areas of Ukraine. The tradition includes visiting people in their homes, to sing the ancient songs of creation, and good tidings, and to bless everyone for the coming year.

This tradition has bound us together for several years, as we've brought joy and folk fun to people all over Ontario. Through donations collected from generous hosts, we've been able to support various charities as well help put money into our ongoing programming.

If you would like to have Kolidadnyky (Carolers) grace your home or gathering on Dec. 25, 2017 or Jan. 7, 2018, please contact us! We would be honoured to bring the spirit of old time carols to your home.  Email us a folkcanada[at]gmail.com
