Folk Camp Canada is seeking administrative and marketing support for our summer season, with a camp & programming assistant position that has the possibility of extending into the fall-winter seasons.

Eligibility:

You must be able to legally work in Canada, be between 15 and 30 years of age (30 at the time of the start of employment, ie. July 24); have a valid Social Insurance Number

Duties:

  • Assist director in administrative tasks

  • Working with director to generate list of tasks to carry out, mostly assisting with email correspondence,

    registration support, setting up systems for inputting data and organizing data in Google Drive

  • Organizing written content, editing, formatting, and publishing social media & web content

  • Manage promotional materials and campaigns for various camp programs

  • Monitor emails & social media accounts

Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills- oral & written (especially spelling & grammar)

  • Attentive to details

  • Proficient in English (Ukrainian an asset but not required)

  • Comfortable speaking on the phone

  • Experienced in using social media (facebook, instagram) & canva design programs

  • Self-directed (Ability to follow through on a list of tasks & report back on work done)

  • Has experience working with others and comfortable working one on one and in a team

  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Google Drive (Google docs, sheets)

  • Familiarity with community arts and/or community organizations (knowledge of Folk Camp

    Canada, Kosa Kolektiv, and/or similar organizations an asset)

  • Passion for promoting traditional crafts, heritage music & arts

Please note that this position will be mostly virtual, but if you are based in southern Ontario it would be great to have you attend some of our events and meetings in person (in GTA).

Term: 7 weeks +, up to 35 hours a week Hourly wage: $20/hr

Start date: as soon as possible (July 24 - )
